About the team
FIS is building a community of engineers to develop and then commoditise a catalogue of enterprise wide consumable products that can easily and repeatably be scaled and deployed across our global Merchant Cloud & Automation Services (MCAS) architecture. The products you develop will help drive our organisation towards our strategic principle u2018Cloud Firstu2019 and our successes will be measured through the continued adoption of our MCAS products and services. Operating within a collaborative SAFe environment, we aim to deliver effective solutions focussed on business value.
What you will be doing
You will be a skilled, proactive engineer with a drive to develop and support robust and scalable applications for the growing market. Tools will not define you, solving problems will be at the core of what you are and do.
u00B7Build and support a 24/7 service aiming for a minimum of 5 9u2019s uptime. u00B7Produce well structured, maintainable, reliable and fit for purpose code to a high level of quality u00B7Actively contribute to the engineering communities of practice u00B7Work collaboratively with other business units to ensure compliance, regulatory and security requirements are built into our products in an automated way. u00B7Advocate, and demonstrate in your delivery, the principles of continuous integration and deployment.
What you bring:
- Expert level AWS
- API driven cloud automation
- Infrastructure automation e.g. Ansible
- Experience in CI/CD environments
- Experience of delivery in large cloud environments
- Administrating Jenkins, Nexus, SonarQube
- Experience in logging and monitoring tools
- Contribute and be part of an engaging, dynamic and inclusive engineering team, grounded in scrum and agile practices, CI/CD, great collaboration, functional programming and are motivated by a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
- Degree level education (in related subject of computing, math, science) or equivalent.
- Track record in delivering work to schedule and to specification
- Influence and drive software engineering and architecture best practices and standards within the team and wider community
Added bonus if you have:
Knowledge of SSL/SSH/Secure communications
Knowledge of web application security
Knowledge with Prometheus, Grafana
Knowledge in container technology with in-depth knowledge of working with Kubernetes.
