Ensure compliance with PWA’s HSE policies, procedures and reporting systems;
Coordinate with contractors to help them improve HSE performance and compliance in their respective work areas;
Carry out planned and unplanned inspections on work sites on the National Roads Network; monitor, assess, report on compliance with HSE procedures and provide recommendations for corrective actions and follow up as applicable;
Identify potential hazards on work sites and provide advice and guidance to employees and contractors on corrections needed.
Ensure that incidents / emergencies reported are attended to and resolved by the maintenance contractors or in-house teams
Prepare Site inspection report and ensure NC’s raised in the report are addressed on time;
Manage, supervise and monitor the performance of maintenance contractors to ensure adherence to defined SLAs
Raise any issues that require consideration to the road networks Engineering Advisor / Expert for advice on actions/ recommendations.
Assist in the maintenance and improvement of HSE policy, procedures and working practices included in the HSE management system, enabling continual improvement;
Ensuring Contractors are adhering to PPE requirements as per QCS & WZTMG;
Carrying out examinations of machinery, equipment’s & tools used on site and review technical reports related to machinery;
Ensure Proper Welfare facilities & better working environment is provided to the work force;
Carry out accident / incident investigations and provide reports and recommendations;
Prepare and submit regular monthly reports on ROMD internal teams’ and contractors’ HSE performance;
Assist, participate and conduct, where applicable, safety awareness, induction and toolbox talks.
