• Review of tender documentation and risks allocation at bid stage.

• Provide front-end advice on contracts.

• Attend tender handover meetings and deliver pre-start meetings to the site team.

• Ensure correct commercial contractual engagement of subcontractors and suppliers.

• Manage claims both offensive and defensive by analyzing the contract and setting up the strategy in order to optimize the business position.

• Manage litigation cases and disputes in collaboration with external advisors (experts, claims consultants, …) and law firms

• Prepare the appropriate legal documents for trial or court proceedings and review expert reports.

• Analyze the probable outcomes of cases, using knowledge of legal precedents.

• Manage external law firm, monitor, and report external legal costs.

Key Requirements:

• Demonstrated ability to successfully manage large scale construction claims and disputes (including claims preparation, negotiation, adjudication, mediation, and all types of ADR).

• Involvement in non-contentious (including dispute avoidance, training and workshops, drafting agreements and standard terms and conditions, contract reviews and negotiation, and providing management and site team with practical advice on specialist, large scale complex or problem projects).

• Tracked record experience in providing end to end support in the management of contentious matters.

• Knowledge of the range of applicable laws and regulations which impact on all facets of the operations.

• Knowledge and understanding of local courts system and arbitration forum (ICC, DIAC, DIFC…).

• Ability to analyze and interpret issues and to prepare legal opinions.

• Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.

• Knowledge of current and developing legal issues and trends in area of expertise.

• Ability to supervise and coordinate the work of legal professionals, paraprofessionals, and consultants.

• Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.

• Negotiating skills.

• Knowledge of financial/business analysis techniques.

• Knowledge of legal documentation procedures and requirements.

• Ability to develop and implement legal strategies and solutions.

• Knowledge of community legal resources.

• Ability to develop and deliver presentations.
