Job Description:
The Implementation and Middle Office lead for India will support growth of Global Trade by managing the client on-boarding, documentation and technical implementation. The role involves defining the vision and strategy for implementations, setting up the necessary framework to succeed, and driving the Trade middle office projects & priorities for India. The successful candidate will work closely with a variety of internal functional partners in order to ensure seamless end to end solutions delivery. The role requires strong knowledge of Trade Finance products including web-based solutions, the technical and operational aspects.
This position will be based at Mumbai and report to the APAC Head of Trade Implementation and Middle Office.
  • Develop deal execution approach and manage all aspects of client on-boarding, documentation and technical implementation for Trade Finance products.
  • Provide innovative solutions and proactively addresses the needs of customers by leveraging experience and market knowledge to drive value-added dialogue.
  • Take a leading role in establishing the Global Trade Middle Office Hub in Mumbai and provide local oversight.
  • Proactively engage with Product and Sales on planning and prioritization decisions for pipeline implementation.
  • Manage the negotiation and execution of agreements and documentation with the client and internal coordination with relevant J.P. Morgan functional teams.
  • Manage the client facing front-end system delivery, system testing and set-up ensuring all implementation tasks are completed on schedule.
  • Monitor and drive projects on an ongoing basis, evaluating progress and quality, managing issue resolution process and taking corrective action as necessary
  • Proactively identify risks and control issues, bring the appropriate resources together, and drive the design and implementation of solutions, decision making, and risk mitigation
  • Drive a high performance culture, sharing of best practices, cross training and synergies amongst Trade Middle Office team members to ensure a sustainable delivery model.

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of Trade Finance products or relevant experience in banking with strong working knowledge of India legal & regulatory framework pertaining to Trade.
  • Experience in managing Trade Finance middle or back-office team or with Trade product management will be added advantage.
  • Experience in collaborating with client facing teams, technology, operation, service, risk, compliance and legal teams and command strong influencing skills.
  • Proven strategic thinker and creative problem solver, capable of developing innovative and differentiated solutions.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated & confident decision-maker with the ability to demonstrate leadership, challenging and influencing change where necessary.
  • Strong leadership skills, as well as being able to effectively work in a team environment and partner with colleagues globally.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail required
