Position Overview
The Market Data Services (MDS) team is responsible for the inventory management and financial management of market data products used by Deutsche Bank employees (i.e. Bloomberg, Refinitiv, FactSet).This data allows traders and Business users across the entire Bank to know the latest price and see historical trends for instruments such as equities, fixed-income products, derivatives and currencies. The MDS team globally supports 12,000 users across 43 countries.
The MDS Centre of Excellence role concentrates on the maintenance of inventory and financial data within the market data database, Market Data Manager (MDM).This data is utilised for purposes of tracking and allocating spend to our Business users. Approximately 14,000 invoices reviewed and processed annually along with declaring entitlements of exchange data to vendors.

Your key responsibilities
Provides a central one stop shop for market data activities:
Product Management:

  • Provide a central point of contact for moves, adds and changes for market data access
  • Raise and ensure business line approval of costs for each request
  • Handle end-user access requests and perform user access provisioning controls
  • Tracking of all user information and service changes within the market data database
  • Coordinate vendor activity such as installation, new subscription, account creation, product demo and training
  • Manage entitlement systems from vendors (i.e. Refinitiv and Bloomberg)
  • Assist in writing and maintaining KOP for vendor services
  • VRM activities
  • Financial Management:
  • Month end governance – accurate and transparent allocations of market data spend
  • Monthly analysis of account balances and resolving variances
  • Coordinating with sourcing to manage purchase orders and invoices for market data
  • Run interfaces with market data vendor entitlement systems and other sources
  • (i.e. Refinitiv’s DACS, Bloomberg EMRS systems)
  • Update market data pricing catalogue based on contractual terms
  • Vendor reporting for data usage
  • Create and process monthly business allocation journals
  • Distribution of monthly reports to Business partners
  • Vendor declaration of data consumption
  • Vendor governance and debt/accrual control

Your skills and experience

  • Research oriented and process driven with strong analytical and financial skills
  • Attention to detail with strong written and oral skills
  • Adaptable to new environment and able to work under pressure
  • Use of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint to a high standard
  • Knowledge of market data (preferred, not required)
  • Accounting knowledge – including pass through cost center accounting, financial forecasting and planning (preferred, not required)
  • 1-2 years minimum experience in a Banking environment
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in English
  • Independent self-starter, customer focused with good interpersonal skills
  • Result-oriented and able to multi-task in a fast paced and pressured environment
  • Good knowledge of investment banking businesses and financial markets (preferred, not required)
  • Shift work will be required to support the regions
